Ron Hale sees son win third state championship

Ron Hale, Liberty Road, Columbia, KY, saw his son, Eric, win his third state band championship in Louisville on Saturday, November 1, 2008. "He's now won three state championships at three different schools," Ron Hale said.

"He won at Harrison County, at Nicholas County, and now with the Bourbon County High School Band." Mr. Hale was complimentary of the Adair County program. "It's the best in the state when you consider the directors who have come out of the program and the number of state championships Adair County itself has won," he said.

Hale's daughter, Debbie, is now director of the Nicholas County High School Band at Carlisle, KY. "They had bad luck with their equipment this year," he said. "They had a four-wheeler which broke down and didn't get to perform. The rules are really strict on that," Hale said.

About: Photo Snoopy's last deployment: Kris and Snoopy leave for Iraq

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

Snoopy also returned safely with CPL Kris Knight. This was also Snoopy's second deployment. He lost an eye in the first deployment and he is a bit blue where his eye patch faded onto his muzzle, but other than that he is fine -- he has served honorably as official good luck charm (forced upon him by his mother)!
