The October Chamber meeting is changed The October meeting of the C-AC Chamber of Commerce will be on Thursday, October 23, instead of October 21, as originally planned. The meeting will begin at 11:45amCT, at the Roberta C. Cranmer Dining Center on the campus of Lindsey Wilson College. Attorney General Jack Conway will be the guest speaker. Items for RMH Wish List already coming in The Ronald McDonald House drop-off for wish list items is already well, underway, even though the official event does not start until 4:00pm, Thursday, October 2, 2008, according to Kathy at the Chamber office. Some of the items already received are Baby bottles/bottle kits, postage stamps, diapers, laundry detergent, preemie clothing, toothbrushe, toothpaste, shaving razors, white towels and washclothes, package snacks, Zip-loc bags, aluminum foil, disinfectant spray, bleach, paper towels, toilet paper. For those wishing to give money, checks should be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities. The check can specify "Lexington" or "Louisville" depending on donors wish. Bearwallow Fall Festival is Sat. Oct. 4, 2008 The Annual Bearwallow Fall Festival is this Saturday, October 4, 2008. The Fall Festival kicks off at 2:00pmCT with sign-ups for a corntoss tournament and we will have a bounce house for the kids. We will be having singing by the Saenz Family, a pie judging contest with local celebrities judging, with food being served at 5:00pmCT. The food choices will be country ham, baked beans, potato salad, macaroni and cheese, deserts, and drinks with each plate costing $5.00. At 7:00pmCT we will start our auction which consists of many one of a kind items and lots of gift certificates. We invite everyone to come out and join in the fun, food,fellowship and fundraising! LWC men's golf wins the Jack Shadwick Invitational Raiders in Don Bishop Invitational at Campellsville CC Thursday, Friday By Chris Wells, LWC Sports Information Director SENECA, SC--The Lindsey Wilson College men's golf team won their second tournament of the season Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at the Jack Shadwick Invitational hosted by Southern Wesleyan University. The Blue Raiders shot a two-day total of 601 (297-304) to win by one stroke at Cross Creek Plantation. University of the Cumberlands (KY) finished second with a team total of 602 (302-300). LWC volleyball's winning streak ends with Georgetown loss By Chris Wells, LWC Sports Information Director The Lindsey Wilson College volleyball team's seven-match winning streak was halted tonight as No. 10-ranked Georgetown (Ky.) College beat the Blue Raiders 3-0 at Biggers Sports Center. Lindsey Wilson (13-3 overall and 4-2 in the Mid-South Conference) committed 21 hitting errors -- the most the season in a three game match -- en route to the 25-22, 25-16, 25-23 loss.
