The October Chamber meeting is changed

The October meeting of the C-AC Chamber of Commerce will be on Thursday, October 23, instead of October 21, as originally planned. The meeting will begin at 11:45amCT, at the Roberta C. Cranmer Dining Center on the campus of Lindsey Wilson College.

Attorney General Jack Conway will be the guest speaker. For more information call the Chamber at (270) 384-2760.

The Governors and Rogers Scholars, originally scheduled for the October meeting, will speak at the November meeting instead.

LINDSEY WILSON COLLEGE REGISTERS STUDENTS TO VOTE Lindsey Wilson College continued to register students on Monday in the Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center. Lindsey Wilson freshman Khyati Patel of Fulton, KY, left, and Lindsey Wilson Assistant Student Activities Jordan Willis talk to LWC students J.P. Perrin of Covington, KY, center, and Lee Hubbard of Glasgow, KY. October 6, 2008 is the final day to register to vote in Kentucky for this falls general election. In addition to a voter-registration drive, Lindsey Wilson plans several other events centered on the presidential election, including a mock election and debate between surrogates from the McCain and Obama campaigns.

Items for RMH Wish List already coming in

The Ronald McDonald House drop-off for wish list items is already well, underway, even though the official event does not start until 4:00pm, Thursday, October 2, 2008, according to Kathy at the Chamber office.

Some of the items already received are Baby bottles/bottle kits, postage stamps, diapers, laundry detergent, preemie clothing, toothbrushe, toothpaste, shaving razors, white towels and washclothes, package snacks, Zip-loc bags, aluminum foil, disinfectant spray, bleach, paper towels, toilet paper.

For those wishing to give money, checks should be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities. The check can specify "Lexington" or "Louisville" depending on donors wish.

Bearwallow Fall Festival is Sat. Oct. 4, 2008

The Annual Bearwallow Fall Festival is this Saturday, October 4, 2008. The Fall Festival kicks off at 2:00pmCT with sign-ups for a corntoss tournament and we will have a bounce house for the kids. We will be having singing by the Saenz Family, a pie judging contest with local celebrities judging, with food being served at 5:00pmCT. The food choices will be country ham, baked beans, potato salad, macaroni and cheese, deserts, and drinks with each plate costing $5.00. At 7:00pmCT we will start our auction which consists of many one of a kind items and lots of gift certificates. We invite everyone to come out and join in the fun, food,fellowship and fundraising! Ronald McDonald Wish List event is Thurs., Oct. 2, 2008

Adair Countians will have a chance to help complete the Ronald McDonald House Charities Wish List tomorrow evening from 4:00pm to 7:00pmCT, Thursday, October 2, 2008 behind the Chamber Building, 201 Burkesville ST, Columbia, KY in the Chamber's Fortune Street parking lot.

Yes, the drop off is underway. Kathy at the Chamber office said that items are already being received. For those who can't come during the regular drop off, it's ok to bring items now. However, if possible, donors are asked to drop off items when plenty of help is on site.
Almost everyone here has either benefitted from the services of the Ronald McDonald Houses in Lexington or Louisville, or knows a family which has. This is a convenient way to kick in and help the charity.

Chef Rerun Cornelison will be hosting the 2nd Annual Holmes Bend General Store Community Appreciation Pig Roast on Saturday, October 4, 2008. "It's our way of saying 'Thank You,' " Chef Cornelison said.

The event puts all eyes on Jericho, the Holmes Bend neighborhood, and Green River Lake this first October 2008 weekend.

LWC men's golf wins the Jack Shadwick Invitational

Raiders in Don Bishop Invitational at Campellsville CC Thursday, Friday

SENECA, SC--The Lindsey Wilson College men's golf team won their second tournament of the season Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at the Jack Shadwick Invitational hosted by Southern Wesleyan University.

The Blue Raiders shot a two-day total of 601 (297-304) to win by one stroke at Cross Creek Plantation.

University of the Cumberlands (KY) finished second with a team total of 602 (302-300). Southern Wesleyan rounded out the top three with a two-day total of 604 (307-297).

LWC volleyball's winning streak ends with Georgetown loss

The Lindsey Wilson College volleyball team's seven-match winning streak was halted tonight as No. 10-ranked Georgetown (Ky.) College beat the Blue Raiders 3-0 at Biggers Sports Center.

Lindsey Wilson (13-3 overall and 4-2 in the Mid-South Conference) committed 21 hitting errors -- the most the season in a three game match -- en route to the 25-22, 25-16, 25-23 loss.

Injury accident occurs on US 68 west of Lebanon, KY

An accident occurred Tuesday afternoon, Tuesday, September 30, 2008, four miles west of Lebanon on US 68.

Mark Johnson, 46, Campbellsville was operating a 1995 Ford Aspire west on US 68.

James W. Morris was operating a 2005 GMC Yukon. He was stopped due to road construction.

Bethany Baptist Church will be having a revival from Sunday, September 28, through Thursday, October 2, 2008, at 6:00pmCT nightly. Bro. Stan Durrett from Rickman Road Baptist Church in Paducah will be preaching. There will also be special singing. Pastor Allen Durrett and the congregaton invite everyone to attend.
