Praise for Junior Brown, the Adair County State Road Crew

Trip from Nashville was difficult until they reached the Adair Co. line

To the editor, ColumbiaMagazine.com

My family and I were driving back from Nashville this morning in the snow storms. There were numerous accidents in Nashville alone, and the roads only got worse the farther north we traveled.

The larger counties that we traveled through on the way home I thought would be clearer than Adair County.

When we reached Adair County's section of the Louie B. Nunn Cumberland Parkway at around 2:00am this morning, we found it was by far the cleanest, easiest to travel section we were on the whole trip.

I would like to commend Mr. Junior Brown and the Adair County Kentucky Highway Department Road Crews for the job they do!

I for one really appreciate all you do to help keep my family safe!

By Rachel Crenshaw, CU student news writer

Dr. Bickers is, Area Resource Minister at American Baptist Church of Indiana and Kentucky

Rev. Bickers referred to Deuteronomy 3 in which numerous Israelites were sent into the land of Canaan to determine the worth of the land. Several men returned from the quest with a bad report. They quickly began to spread that they could never defeat the people that occupied the land, even though God had made a vow to deliver the promised land into their hands.

About: Homer Ledford in story "Three Columbia-area luthiers at Paris show"

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

I am overly proud to say that I knew and admired Homer Ledford, master luthier known largely for his mountain dulcimers. Homer and my sister Mary were friends until he died and she has one of his dulcimers. I don't think there were many people Homer met who weren't friends.

Feedback: Tony Harvey says OC captured a Snipe

    re: BIRD PHOTO

    To the editor:

In reference to the image of a bird that OC recently has photographed. What he has taken a picture of is what's known as a Common Snipe. So I'm just wondering if the OC was snookered into going Snipe hunting and just doesn't want to admit.

Well, there's a good side to this story. He is probably one of very few who've been successful in actually catching a Snipe. So he should be proud, I think?
