Aristotles Butterfly

Aristotles Butterfly - By Ben Arnold

On wings of beauty flittering about in unorganized paths of certainty
I watch with new amazement, as if never visioned before todays sun
Such power and elegance, awareness of thoughts of keeping
I concede to my spirit of love, giving freedom without touching
At a distance, I love this little pack of energy
Freedom from me, it feeds on the flowers I avoided taking

Aristotle’s Butterfly

2021-09-05 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Ben Arnold.
"...Yellow and black and radiance beyond man’s ability
Such delicate power, unbelievable of flight over continents
Yet I believe and wonder, watching at a distance
Is this beauty of and connected to the same spirit as Aristotle?"

By Crystal Staley/Sebastian Kitchen

Frankfort, KY - As part of the unprecedented effort by his administration to expand health care capacity and protect Kentuckians during this deadly spike in COVID-19 cases, Gov. Letter: Burial ground top of Creelsboro Arch

Mike Haley writes:
I have been fishing at The Arch all of my life. I have never been to the top. I am just curious abut the graves on top. Are they recognizable? Have they been desecrated? I know unfortunately there have been bad people rob Indian graves. If you go to the top, can you see them? Thank you, --Mike Haley

Carol Perkins: Birth Day Memories

Previous Column: Carol Perkins: Leading the Horse

By Carol Perkins

Labor Day weekend is special for all Americans because it gives them a three-day weekend. My September 6th birthday will usually fall during this long weekend. This year it falls on Labor Day.

I was born in my grandmother's house (Sullivan) at Cedar Flat. This was a busy day for Dr. Dunham because three others were delivered that same day. I'm not sure he made it for all deliveries, but he got there for mine. Back then, according to my mother, neighbors arrived the day after the birth to welcome the new baby. I had no shortage of visitors probably because I was the first child born to Henry and Marguerite Reece Sullivan. Visitors like to figure out whom a baby resembles.

While we were staying at my grandmother's house, our new home was under construction.
