He was a native of Jacktown, KY, and a resident of Liberty, KY, at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Russell & Laura Belle Stafford Johnson. His wife, Adell Propes Johnson, survives. He was the patriarch of a large, respected family. He leaves 21 direct living descendants.
