Estill Johnson, Casey County, KY (1938-2017)

He was a native of Jacktown, KY, and a resident of Liberty, KY, at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Russell & Laura Belle Stafford Johnson. His wife, Adell Propes Johnson, survives. He was the patriarch of a large, respected family. He leaves 21 direct living descendants. Estill was a mechanic and a member of Jesus Name Tabernacle.

Estill Johnson, age 79, of Liberty, KY passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at the Liberty Care and Rehabilitation Center, Liberty.

Funeral Services will be held 1pmCT/2pmET, Monday November 20, 2017 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 142 KY Hwy 49, Liberty, KY. Bro. Raymond Alstott and Bro. Hershel Lawhorn will officiate. Burial will be in the Caney Fork Cemetery. Visitation will be 5pm-9pmCT/6pm-9pmET, Sunday November 19, 2017 and after 7amCT/8amET, Monday November 20, 2017 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel.

He was born in Jacktown, Casey County, KY on August 29, 1938 a son of the late Russell & Laura Belle Stafford Johnson. He died Wednesday, November 15, 2017, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 79 years, two months, and 17 days.

Estill was a mechanic and a member of Jesus Name Tabernacle.

Survivors include:
  • His spouse: Adell Propes Johnson

  • Two sons: Rick and (Sherri) Johnson of Lawrenceburg, KY; and Doug and (Nicki) Johnson of Liberty, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Jeremiah, Jessica, Jesse, Joshua, Myra and Rachel

  • Thirteen great grandchildren

  • Two sisters: Judy Daniel of Liberty, KY; and Delores Johnson of Lake Station, IN

  • One brother: Jerald Johnson of Folsom, CA
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one son: Anthony Johnson; one brother: Jimmy Johnson; and three sisters: Lucille Lucas, Irene Harness and Fern Johnson.
