Carlotta Sue Sanders Davis-Mayes, Taylor Co., KY (1951-2017)

She served her family faithfully as a homemaker prior to her illness and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was a native of Liberty, KY, and a resident of Campbellsville, KY at the time of her death in Elizabethtown, KY. She was the daughter of the late Charles Christopher & Mary Margie Wethington Sanders. Her husband, Howard Mayes, survives. She leaves 41 direct and three step living descendants. Her final resting place will be in Clementsville, Casey County, KY.

FRANKFORT, KY (Fri 29 Sep 2017) - A Hazard, Ky. physician and his wife have been sentenced to 180 months in prison and 80 months in prison, respectively, following their federal convictions on multiple charges relating to the unlawful distribution of prescription opioids, health care fraud, and money laundering.

Tim was was a retired truck driver, U.S. Army veteran and deacon of the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. He was a member of a leading Beechville, KY, family. He was the son of Jimmie Hubbard and the late Ruth Smith Hubbard. His wife, Bonnie Coffey Hubbard, survives. He leaves 13 direct living descendants.

David E. Walters, Taylor County, KY (1933-2017)

He professed faith in Christ and attended Faith Alive Ministry. He was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.He was a native of Taylor County and a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the patriarch of a large, respected family. He was the son of the late Albert Walters & Lucy Garnett Walters. His wife of over 65 years, Norma Jean Williams Walters, survives. He leaves 31 direct living descendants.

Twenty-Two officers graduate from DOCJT Sergeant's Course

Scotty Perian of the Campbellsville Police Department is among the graduates of the three-week program, which focuses on leadership

Richmond, KY -- Law enforcement officers from agencies across the commonwealth were recognized today for completing the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training's Academy of Police Supervision.

APS, also called the sergeant's academy, is a three-week, 122-hour training program targeted for newly promoted sergeants or officers who are on their agency's promotion list to become sergeants.

While in APS, students participate in classes focusing on the role of a supervisor, leadership, resolving conflict, managing diversity, monitoring officer performance, professional image, legal issues for supervisors, ethics, interpersonal communication, effective written communication, making decisions, solving problems, managing critical incidents, public speaking, emotional survival, media relations and others.

COLUMBIA, KY - (Thu 28 Sep 2017) No. 3 Lindsey Wilson volleyball showed little rust in a three-set sweep of visiting Cumberlands (KY) on Thursday at Biggers Sports Center.

The Blue Raiders - playing for the first time in eight days -- produced their 12th match of hitting at least .300 as a team in a 25-14, 25-9, 25-16 win. Lindsey Wilson concluded the night hitting .352 with 44 kills and just 13 errors in the match.
