Patty Gail Perkins Mills, Green County, KY (1942-2017)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church. She was a retired School Teacher for the Green County Board of Education after 27 years of service and was a member of the KY Retired Teachers AssociationShe was the matriarch of a highly regarded Green County, Kentucky family with strong family ties in Metcalfe County. She was the daughter of Ruth Clark Perkins of Greensburg, KY, & the late Carl Taylor Perkins. She leaves four direct living descendants.

Ms. Patricia Gail "Patty" Mills, 75, of Greensburg, KY, departed this life on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the St. Joseph East Hospital in Lexington, KY.

There will be a Celebration of Life service held at 11amCT, Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Neagle Cemetery. Bro. Andre Calhoun and Bro. Joseph Wilcoxson will officiate. Visitation is requested from 4pm until 8pmCT, Friday, September 29, 2017, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Saturday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Andrew Davis, Nathan Davis, Mike Davis, Jeff Church, Kenny Wayne Perkins, and Chris Church. Honorar pallbearers: Jeff Campbell, Greg Campbell; and Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church Members.

Ms. Patricia Gail "Patty" Mills of Greensburg, KY, daughter of Ruth Clark Perkins of Greensburg, KY, & the late Carl Taylor Perkins, was born on Sunday, June 14, 1942, in Green County, KY and departed this life on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the St. Joseph East Hospital in Lexington, Fayette County, KY. She was 75 years, three months, and 13 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church. She was a retired School Teacher for the Green County Board of Education after 27 years of service and was a member of the KY Retired Teachers Association.

Besides her mother, she is survived by:
  • A son: Tom Mills of Greensburg, KY

  • A daughter and son-in-law: Valerie and Mike Davis of Greensburg, KY

  • Two grandsons: Andrew Davis and his wife, Sidney; and Nathan Davis, all of Greensburg, KY

  • Two sisters and brothers-in-law: Betty & Don Church, and Judy & Louie Froggett all of Center, KY

  • A sister-in-law: Pam Perkins of Summersville, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Ms. Mills was also preceded in death by two brothers: Kenneth Perkins and Timothy Perkins; and a special friend: Ralph Clark.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Neagle Cemetery Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
