David E. Walters, Taylor County, KY (1933-2017)

He professed faith in Christ and attended Faith Alive Ministry. He was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.He was a native of Taylor County and a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the patriarch of a large, respected family. He was the son of the late Albert Walters & Lucy Garnett Walters. His wife of over 65 years, Norma Jean Williams Walters, survives. He leaves 31 direct living descendants.

David E. Walters, 84, of Campbellsville, son of the late Albert Walters and Lucy Garnett Walters, was born February 23, 1933, in Taylor County, KY. He died at 3:14amET, Friday, September 29, 2017 in Campbellsville.

The funeral service will be at 12pmCT/1pmET, Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Bro. David Boils and Bro. Ralph Boils. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old U.S. 68, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Monday, October 2, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.

David E. Walters was the son of the late Albert Walters & Lucy Garnett Walters. He was born February 23, 1933, in Taylor County, KY. He died Friday, September 29, 2017 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 84 years, seven months, and six days.

He professed faith in Christ and attended Faith Alive Ministry.

He was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.

David united in marriage to Norma Jean Williams December 29, 1951.

Besides his wife, Norma Jean Walters of Campbellsville, he is survived by:
  • Two daughters: Connie Bland and husband, J. T. and Judy Humphress and husband, Mike of Campbellsville, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Jenny Powell and husband, Richard of Elizabethtown, KY; David Anderson and wife, Karen of Leitchfield, KY: Kristy Nelson of Campbellsville, Ky; Jessica Kimbler and husband, Jay, of Columbia, KY; and Ashley Hunt and husband, Matt of Calvary

  • Sixteen great-grandchildren

  • Eight great-great-grandchildren

  • Two sisters: Barbara Pike and Lois Richardson of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • And many other relatives and friends
He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Michael David Humphress; and three brothers and two sisters: Herbert Walters, Raymond "Bill" Walters, Howard Walters in infancy, Edith Lawson and Virginia Shively.
