Washingtonian/Gradyvillian wants photo of zucchini chainsaw

To Ed Waggener
In the interest of complete coverage I hope for video of your lovely wife wielding a chainsaw against the humongous zucchini in the photo . . . - Mary Keltner, Chicagoan by birth, forever a Gradyvillian by choice
Thanks, Mary Keltner - 'Truthfully,' as the late great Gradyvillian Paul Barry Hayes would be won't to say, the chainsaw - if there are ary 'un, and it's not just a figment of her boundless imagination - I have not seen the kitchen device. I can only imagine that it is gold-plated, bejeweled, with diamond cutting edges which would be needed to slaughter this giant Ricky & Mitzi produce wonder, so hard I don't think it is a zucchini. Maybe a kin. Maybe not. Thanks. Great to hear from you. - EW

Mike got two correct! There are some others in the photo. - HUNTER DURHAM
Thanks for the update - Some - not at liberty to say who - thought initially that the photo was taken at the Lindsey Wilson Training school, that the little boy photo bombing the group picture was Hunter Durham, that there might have been some McQueary's in the picture, wondered where Roger Picket was, and couldn't understand how Joanna Harper got in the photo.

Calvin Claywell: The vegetable is a large zucchini

About: What is this vegetable/fruit?

Calvin Claywell writes:
This is a zucchini way past edible harvest time. Lots of seeds will be inside. Not desirable to at this stage. - Calvin Claywell
Thanks, Calvin Claywell - Good guess - mine when I first saw the things. And even better for you, having only the photo to go by. But we think that if you were to touch it and check it for firmness, there might be a different conclusion. Linda has used her kitchen "chainsaw" think it might be a spaghetti squash. It isn't. It is firm, has large seeds and appears to be in need of baking. The flavor is good. The edible part is firm. No expert on zucchini, but we think z's get softer as they mature. Farmer's market folks say some baking customers say they prefer large zucchinis - that they are better for baking zucchini bread. - EW
