Pam Wethington says a Prayer for Dr. Phil

By Pam Wethington writes:
Heavenly Father, I come to you on bended knee and ask you to bless Dr. Phil in whatever way is in your will. I pray that he does not have to suffer. I pray for peace and comfort for his family.

I was one of the first of many patients to see Dr. Phil when he came back to Adair Co. All four of my children were taken care of by Dr. Phil. He was always good to me and my children. Not just as a doctor but as a friend also.

I pray for healing for Phil if that is God's will. Most of all I pray that he is ready to pass from this world to the next. Phil Aaron has been around as long as I can remember. He was the type of doctor, who, if you needed a shot, he gave you one; and not just a bunch of pills.

Moss family grateful to Dr. Phil for healing at any hour of day

Comments re article 83462 Prayers for healing for Dr Phil Aaron today

Bob Reta Moss writes:
Dr Phil, our family is so very grateful to you for providing health care to us at any hour of the day - even to accepting phone calls at home after hours. The many visits to Betty Moss 's house at midnight when she was in so much pain from cancer. I remember you were so tired you fell asleep while waiting for her pain medicine to take effect. She said," Phil, Go upstairs & go to bed." That's how much she loved you & your family, as we all did. You have walked with us through so many illnesses, most recent being Bob's throat cancer & radiation. Ryan's illness after coming home from the Air Force. You saved both their lives. Thank You for caring, we love you & may God Bless, you will be healed one way or another.

Love & Prayers!!!
Bob & Reta Moss

JIM: Declaimants in 1916 LWTS contest later successful in life

100 Years ago the Lindsey Wilson Training School was, as now, already deeply impacting,in a positive way, Columbia and South Central Kentucky. Dr. A.P. Lyon Declaimatory Contest participation was predictive of future leaders: The winner in May 100 years ago, was Oscar Capshaw. Four of the five lads who didn't win went on to even greater success than the top medalist. (There's little information one debater.) They were: Messrs. Owen Lee, Howard Garner, The Faulkner, Ralph Garnett, and Wallace Carter.

The Debate

"Last Friday evening [May 12th] the chapel at Lindsey-Wilson was well filled with friends and patrons who had come out to hear six young men contest for the medal given yearly by Dr. A.P. Lyon for the best declamation.

"Each speaker did himself proud but the judges finally decided in favor of Mr. Oscar Capshaw.

Letter: No one like Dr. Phil

Pam Doss writes:
I have been a patient of Dr. Phil Aaron for many many years and he has cared for the people of Adair county. I used to work at Casey school in the kitchen and I would see Dr Aaron pack in sacks of stuff for the kids of Adair county: snacks backpacks and what ever. He would come and read to the little ones before going to the office. I started out being a patient of his and was still going to him when he got so sick. I have been to his office when you could look at him and tell he did not feel like being there and could hardly walk across the floor. He is missed as a doctor and as a friend. There will never be another Dr Phil Aaron!!!!!!! --Pam Doss

Letter: Phil Aaron as father figure to entire art class

Linda Lewis writes:
My memory of Dr. Phil is not of his professional life, but his life as a father to his son Blake. I was teaching art at Colonel William Casey Elementary, and Blake was in either kindergarten, first, or second grade. That year his class had art at 8:00, and for that entire school year Dr. Phil came to art class with Blake. Dr. Phil never showed partiality toward his son, but did anything he could to help in class - from passing out supplies to watching the little ones, from our classroom doorway, as they went for a drink of water or went to the restroom. Helping them find their way back to our door. He would walk around the room giving words of praise and encouragement to the students as they worked on their projects. They all loved him that year. The smiles on their happy faces as he helped was evident. Through the years I have often thought of the fatherly love he showed to all of that class, not just to his son. Thank you Dr. Phil. --Linda Lewis

Paula Eaton shares Dr. Phil Aaron's care and encouragement

By Paula Ball Eaton

Dr. Phil is a man that has never left my heart or memory. I have so many fond words and memories of him. He has always inspired my life in so many ways. I used to aggravate him and tell him he was so awesome because we shared the same birthday! I would have to say out of all the memories the one that inspired me the most was during a time when he was allowing me to do some transcribing/filing for him to pay off a medical bill. I had recently found out that I was going to be an unwed mother and felt embarrassed for him to find out.

I remember we were standing in the reception area of the office on Jamestown Street and he said, "I was disappointed when I heard the news but I realized this could be a good thing because you would now finish college to take care of this child."
