Cody had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the South Summersville Baptist Church. He was a Pre-med Student at the University of Kentucky. He was a 2014 graduate of Green County High School. He was a member of the National Honors Society. He raised and trained bird dogs. He loved to fish and hunt.

Casey County, KY Board of Educaton employee replaces Ashley P. Wink, who resigned, to fill out term ending July 16, 2015, on Commonwealth Council on Developmental Disabilities

FRANKFORT, KY - (July 31, 2015) – Gov. Steve Beshear has appointed Stella W. Beard as a member of the Commonwealth Council on Developmental Disabilities. Beard, of Dunnville, KY, is a special education program assistant for Casey County Board of Education and represents parents or guardians of individuals with developmental disabilities. The appointment replaces Ashley P. Wink, who resigned. Beard shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending July 16, 2016.

Michael Wayne Flanagan, 63, Russell County, KY

He was a member of a highly regarded Russell County, KY family. He was a land surveyor and a member of Clear Fork Baptist Church, where he wasa Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was a son of the late Glendo Wesley & Doris Bernard Flanagan. His wife, Kathy Ann Foley Flanagan, survives. He leaves three direct living survivors.

Letter: Regarding Who has right of way?

John Campbell writes:
I'm not an authority or in law enforcement, so this comment is my understanding of KY law.

Usually (not always), a turning lane is a lane from which traffic is merging into the already established flow of traffic. Thus, from the turning lane, one would yield to oncoming traffic.

When in doubt, the larger vehicle with the most velocity ALWAYS wins! It is against the law even if the law isn't around (tree falls in the woods-does it make a sound if nobody is there to hear it?) and the man with the badge and gun is always right when he has you blue lighted. Don't argue with the man.

Taylor County to get 20 news jobs at INFAC

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT in CM 7-COUNTY AREA: A company that found a home in Taylor County seven years ago has found so much success that it is now time to grow. Gov. Steve Beshear today announced INFAC North America is expanding in Campbellsville.

First Bridge in Stephens Administration goes to District 5

Span will cost approximately $116,000. Will be built by County Road Dept.

The first bridge/culvert built in the Administration of CJE Michael D. Stephens will be in Billy Dean Coffey's Magisterial District 5, on Theron Akin Road, two-tenths off KY 76, near Tarter's Chapel United Methodist Church.

Deputy Judge Executive Holly Grimsley said the Adair County Road Department will construct the bridge and that actual work on the project will begin as soon as an application to construct the span clears the Energy and Environment Cabinet.

There are two places in Adair Co. where there are no signs posted. One is at Walmart and the other is at the junction of 55 & 551. They are the exit to make the turns. But at Walmart if someone is coming from 80 west and they have the green light, then who will have the right of way? Stephen

Today as I was going home driving on Fairground St., I saw the finished work at Lindsey Hill and Fairground Street. Hats off to LWC - it looks very impressive.

We had family this past weekend, including company from Indianapolis. My grandson, who attended LWC for 2 years before going to WKU, took one of his cousins and went around the campus. The young man he was with could not get over how pretty and well cared the campus is. Keep up the the good work. - Mitzi
