Charles Marshburn: Confused about the Mayoral election

Charles Marshburn writes:
If the verdict on the election doesn't come back until the next election, was the acting (current) mayor really mayor? - Charles Marshburn
Thanks, for your question, a good one - I don't think there's any question of that. Right now, he is Mayor, doing all the mayor things. But I'm speaking with only the authoritativeness of one who has undergone only six weeks of University of Tennessee law school - just got to learning interesting things about the Municipal Code of Kingsport and its ordinance against second story poolrooms, so my opinion is only an opinion. We're in the same situation as everyone else - awaiting the Judge's ruling, and finding out whether it will be appealed. Lord, what a publicity opportunity an appeal would present - better than the Scopes trial in Dayton, TN. Good for all you folks who want attention at any price, terror for me and my fellow Hobbits who are deathly afraid of living in too interesting a time. - EW

Rickie Williams comments on Historic Taylor Co KY photo Main ST

Rickie Williams sends a wealth of automotive detail, including the big reason why we paid a bit more for a Pontiac than a Chevrolet - an 'all we like sheep' instinct so skillfully exploited by marketing gurus of the day. We got more chrome. And he adds a commentary on a luxury item of the day - an electric water heater. Larry Smith and CM would also like to know the dealerships these autos likely came from.
About: Comments re photo 59317 Historic Taylor Co KY photo Main Street a Larry Smith favorite photo

By Rickie Williams

The car in front is a 1949 Pontiac Streamliner. If it had been a Chevrolet, its name would have been Fleetline. Pontiacs were noted for having a lot more chrome trim than Chevrolets back then.

The back car that has as Larry Smith mentioned the "wrap around" windows is a 1956 Plymouth Belvedere.

The GRAS puppies are now waddling around quite well

They are also starting to get their baby teeth in which means they will be starting on soft food soon. Which also means they will be up for adoption within the next few weeks.

By Kim Sallee

It has been really busy the last several days at the shelter, which is a great thing. Since the last update they are now waddling around quite well. There little tails start wagging when they see me coming.
