Companies settle multi-state price fixing case for $310 million

Attorney General Jack Conway and his Office of Consumer Protection are encouraging eligible Kentucky consumers to file a claim in a $310 million settlement involving Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) manufacturers. The multistate settlement involves 12 DRAM manufacturers over claims of price fixing.

Mrs. Margie Mae Henderson Caven, Green Co., KY (1927-2014)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Broadway Church of Christ in Campbellsville. She was a retired teacher for the Green County Board of Education having 37 years of service. She was also a member of the Green County Retired Teachers Organization, past Green County Public Library Board member and supporter. She was a native of Green County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late G.C. Henderson and Myrtle Sullivan Henderson and the widow of H.B. Caven, her husband of over 48 years. She leaves two direct living descendants.

The funeral services for Mrs. Margie Henderson Caven will be conducted at 1pmCT, Thursday, July 17, 2014 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Chris Clark will be officiating. Visitation is requested 4pm-9pmCT, Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Thursday until time of the funeral service.

Travel: Overturned semi has EB Western KY Parkway closed

ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (1:56pmCT) - An overturned semi has all of eastbound Western Kentucky Parkway blocked between I65 and US 31W.

Eastbound traffic is being rerouted onto the northbound I65 ramp, where motorists can follow the cloverleaf back onto westbound WK Parkway and reroute via the US 31W Bypass exit which is less than a mile back.

ACES Summer Camp SAFARI provides many adventures

Summer Camp SAFARI was provided by ACES's 21 Century Community Learning Center program and coordinated by Ms. Pam Bivens. Collaborative partners were Camp Rocket at Adair Primary Center, the Adair County Schools Food Service, Migrant and Transportation Departments, ACES Family Resource Center and University of KY College of Agricultural 4-H Program. Additional support for the program was provided by The United Way of South Central Kentucky.

Unsuspecting visitors to Adair County Elementary School (ACES) this summer may have expected to see an empty building void of learning and children's laughter. Instead they have been greeted with live snakes, rockets being launched, children encased in bubbles and science and art experiments gone wild.

Hearing set for discontinuance of portion of Avery Rooks Road

The Columbia/Adair County Economic Development Authority opened its Tuesday, July 15, 2014 meeting with Adair County Judge Executive Ann Melton administering the oath of office to three new members, Ann Martin, Mark Dykes, and Mike Curry, with the election of new officers immediately following. Dan Antle was elected Chair; Tony Corbin, Vice Chair; Randy Burns, Secretary, and Mike Curry, Treasurer.

The board reviewed but tabled the budget for the coming year, awaiting more detailed analysis of last year's revenue, and expenditures, and an exact breakdown on duties of the staff, whose costs are shared with the Columbia/Adair County Chamber of Commerce and the Columbia/Adair County Tourism Board.
