Life in Holler: Outtakes from a grand, near perfect day

Click on headline for introduction with photos

By Shamarie Claiborne

Sometimes I get so busy I forget to stop and enjoy the life the Lord has given me. These shots from the last 24 hours have helped put me back in balance and remember what is really important in my life. The Lord seems to put things in my viewfinder that speak to my heart. Some times it is humorous, sometimes thoughtful, but always heartfelt. Those moments from him are some of my greatest blessings. I humbly present them for your viewing and pray you have a blessed day - full of happiness, love, and laughter! - Shamarie Claiborne

Interesting items found in old newspaper clippings

Ed, I found this old newspaper (see accompanying photo) in my grandmother's personal belongings and thought this interesting. I scanned a couple items of interest: The first is that the Adair County News cost $1.00 per year and the next is the personals. I wondered if the Ralph Waggener listed here as being sick was any of your relatives. Interesting to see what was posted back in the day. The last article was the obit of my great grandmother. Interesting. I knew the story of her death as a young girl. - Judy Corbin, 843 Pikeview Road, Greensburg, KY 42743.

Entertainment starts at 9amCT at the Farmers Market on the Square (FM2), at the Adair Annex Parking Lot, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY. Hours for the market are 8am-1pmCT.

Jana Esch writes:
Mary Knight , you've got one up on me. I haven't met the young girls that will be at the market Saturday but I'm told they are absolutely wonderful and I'm anxious to hear them sing. As for "a guy named Sam", what little I know about him is very good. Any man (or woman, like Darlene Campbell who donates their time and energy to teach and instruct children gets my vote!

I hope you're able to join us as we listen to the Grace Girls and a Guy named Sam tomorrow.
