We're starting this perfect, sun shiny Saturday with 12 Vendors (including Jay Cox with Country Ham & BBQ - BYOC though - this weekend there's no Starbucks kiosk scheduled, just bring your own from home or get it on the way) AND a Great Entertainment Group. Come just to hear and support The Grace and a Guy Named Sam. PLUS Westlake Regional Hospital and Candice Armstrong for the Adair County Community Garden. Your Dad called. He wants you to bring him to the Farmer's Market on the Square to kick off a great Father's Day weekend. Here's some of what's in store today:
Entertainment: The GRACE Girls and a Guy Named Sam 9am-12pm noon CT, today, with Katie Bloyd, Mary Guterrius, Emma Grider and Emma Rich. The Grace Girls are a group of students form Green River Arts. Green River Arts offers art lessons, voice/guitar lessons and kung fu lessons at 106 Jamestown Street, Columbia, KY. Contact them there or at 270-250-2922.
Special Guests: Westlake Regional Hospital - Free Healthy Living recipe books will be available to help FM2 customers make good food choices and prepare tasty meals. AND Columbia Adair Community Garden - Candice Armstrong and the LWC students will be on hand to answer your questions about how you can be a part of the Columbia Adair Community Garden.

Early at the Market on a beautiful Saturday, June 14, 2014
2014-06-14 - Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Farmers Market on the Square started drawing customers this morning well before the opening hour of 8amCT. It's a bring your own coffee morning, but food is available today - ready to eat or to make your own picnic. Red ripe tomatoes are coming in, but not in a huge way - so better come early. The photo was taken from Jay Cox's BBQ stand. He's back today, with grilled Country Ham and Pork Tenderloin and if you're a Coke or breakfast person, you don't even have to bring your own coffee. The hospitality tent is set up for a conversation pit or to have a snack or a lunch. FM2 Street Food: What a difference Jay makes!

This week the master was back at work. Jay Cox was fixing up another BBQ tenderloin sandwich mid-morning. Coffee was bring your own - but it was as close by as Moore's Lunch Counter, on the Theatre Walk off the Square, so the crisis was as great as earlier reported. Westlake Regional Hospital's Director of Marketing Lori Wade was a welcome part of Farmers Market on the Square today - on what has been the most perfect market day of all. Still, the bottle water she passed out was welcome, along with the healthy lifestyles cookbooks and literature she was busily passing out.
