Rotary Club's never give up attitude is paying off today When civic club takes the lap around Blue Raider Stadium, it will symbolize the completion of the collective exercise equivalent to a "Walk Around the World" - 24,901.5 miles! Columbia Rotary hopes other fitness proponents join them today. Looking Ahead with Columbia Rotary: Columbia Rotary Radio Auction Monday & Tuesday June 23-24, 2014, at 6pmCT, simulcast on Radio Stations WAIN 93.5 FM or The WAVE 92.7 FM. Follow list of items so far reported: 2014 Columbia Rotary Radio Auction Based on information from Rotarian Mary Keltner, CM Rotary news files The Columbia Rotary will have a walk at the Blue Raider Stadium at the Lindsey Wilson Sports Park, 928 Russell Road, Columbia, KY, at 10amCT, Saturday, June 14, 2014, as the finale of the club's "Walk Around the World." The lap will be a big triumph. It represents the collective equivalent exercise to walking the 24,091.5 circumference of the earth by the Rotary and Friends who registered for the exercise less than six years ago when now and then Rotary President H. Hunter Durham initiated the lofty fitness goal. The walk started in 2008 and by July, 2008, the Columbia Rotary & Friedns. had walked 307 miles, approximately the distance to Memphis, TN. Registered participants logged activities through the intervening years and today the goal is accomplished. Today's walk around Blue Raider Stadium is the grand finale of the walk.
