Red sunrise, sunset meaning is in the Bible

From words of Jesus

By Delbert Abbott

Jesus said this in Matthew 16:2-3. King James Version (KJV)
1 The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven.

2 He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.

3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?

Red skies in the morning, sailors take warning.
Red skies at night, sailors delight

Letter: On important questions

Tami Wilson writes:
Well, I would gladly devour strips 3 and 4 as they are. Strips one and two seem to be yet a little limp, so I might use those to wrap bundles of blanched asparagus or green beans, before roasting them to perfection in the oven. Strip 5 is a little overdone, and would be the most likely to be tossed out, though bacon, even at this stage, is hard to resist. That's how I see it... --Tami Wilson
Comments re photo 53093 Epicurean Kentuckian Important Question

Tami, Thanks for weighing in. Your tastes follow my own, although I personally know at least 3 people who might, if they had a sympathetic waiter or family cook, send strip 5 back for just a little longer on the grill. --Pen
