Funeral service for Gladys Lucille Irvin will be 1pmCT, Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Garnett Hammond officiating. Friends may call after 5pmCT, Tuesday, January 14, 2014. Burial in the New Friendship Cemetery.

She was born Saturday, May 20, 1939 in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Lucian & Ada Roy Shepherd. She died Sunday, January 12, 2014, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 74 years, 7 months, and 23 days.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Coffey's Grove Separate Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvis Irvin; two sisters, Dorothy Scales, Norma Jasper and a brother, J. T. Shepherd.

She is survived by the following:
  • Three children: Donnie (Debbie) Irvin, Russell Springs, KY; Karen (Tim) Ford, Indianapolis, IN; and Rhonda (Roger) Collins, Russell Springs, KY

  • Twelve grandchildren

  • Sixteen great grandchildren

  • Six great great grandchildren

  • A brother: Roy Shepherd, Jamestown, KY

  • Two sisters: Helen Rigney, Columbia, KY; and Pearl Irvin, Russell Springs, KY

  • Several neices and nephews
