Columbia, KY City Council Jan. 13, 2014 meeting report

In tonight's City Council Special Called meeting
  • Council approves Pat Bell to another four year term on the Columbia Housing Authority
  • Minutes of December 2, and December 18, 2013 meetings approved

The Columbia City Council, tonight, Monday, January 13, 2014, approved Mayor Mark Harris' recommendation to re-appoint Pat Bell to a new four year term to January 3, 2018, on the Columbia Housing Authority. The unanimous 5-0 vote, came on a motion by Councillor Craig Dean, and a second by Charles Grimsley, with Councillors Linda Waggener, Dr. Ron Rogers, and June Parsons affirming on a voice vote, came in a special called meeting.

Also by unanimous vote, the council approved minutes for December 2, 2013 regular meeting, on a motion by Ron Rogers, with a second by June Parsons; and the minutes of the special called meeting of December 18, 2013. The 5-0 vote on the latter came on a motion by Councillor Linda Waggener and second by Charles Grimsley.



Only those three items were on the agenda. Mayor Harris noted that because the meeting was a special called one, there would be no citizen, council, or mayoral comments, and that no item not on the agenda could be discussed.

Present at the meeting besides the Mayor and five previously mentioned councillors, were City Attorney Marshall Loy, City Clerk Rhonda Loy, City Police Chief Jason Cross, City Gas Superintendent Ron Cook, and members of the media.
