The Mustard Seed in Pellyton is closed - for now

A country restaurant added a delightful change of pace of area diners
Unfortunately, due to illness we will have to close the store until further notice.

However, in the meantime, we are also working on a continuation plan under other ownership. If that works out, the Mustard Seed will be reopened.

It has been a long, difficult road. We deeply appreciate all of the wonderful help from our local and extended community. Pellyton is a wonderful community we have come to know as home.

We will both be returning to Houston, where I can seek better medical care and we be together again, rather than living apart. We will still be returning here, as we still have our farm and who knows what we may plan here in the future. Thank you again Lemia and Ramon

Jon Halsey: On Open Meetings Laws - KY & USA

By Jon Halsey

Among the beauties of the U.S. system of Government, and among the reasons that the U.S. sytem is one of the oldest sytems of Government in the modern world are the concepts of a strong local democracy and dispersed jurisdiction. It is these two concepts that give rise to the "Kentucky Open Meetings laws (KRS 61.805 to 61.850)"

As long as the law is extant it must be obeyed and the citizens owe a debt of gratitude to the members of the Fourth Estate for protecting our interests. When the Publics business is conducted in such a way that the Public is kept uninformed of what they are being bound to, we run the serious risk of losing bits and pieces of the precious liberty and freedom we have been entrusted with. --Jon Halsey
