Letter: Proud of Brad Scholl

Vicki Brock Miller writes:
I am the very proud mother of Brad Scholl and grandmother of Chance and Chad. I can't begin to express the pride I have for these three men. I will brag a little on Brad for recently receiving his BA degree. It took him several years to accomplish this as he works full time for the City of Columbia as a police officer and is in the Natl. Guard. He is also an excellent father to his three sons. But above all he is a good Christian man of God. I am so very proud to be able to call him my son. --Vicki Brock Miller

Dog story we like: Black dog smarter than Mad Men

At CM, we like to think it is clearcut evidence of the phenomenon we've always noticed when people advertise, and believe - that the ad starts working before it hits the streets with an unexpected benefit .

Yesterday, Monday, November 11, 2013 at 6:41pmCT, we received word that a black beagle (finder thought) had been found - a female with a pink collar. "Very friendly and clearly someone's pet," and gave the phone number to call.

As we were working to post the photo, an email arrived - just 12 minutes later, with this message - "Disregard." There was already a happy reunion. "The dog led us to her home!" the Good Samaritan advertiser wrote.

Maybe the unexpected advertising benefit didn't occur this time. It appears we just have a case of an extremely smart black dog and understanding strangers. But it is a shaggy dog story we felt compelled to share. - CM
