Are we safe enough downtown today? Thoughts this morning include bombs and unhappy people, an eight-year-old boy who held a poster not long before he was killed which read, "no more hurting people". I honor him for his message and will remember it. Another had a similar message, "First do no harm." By Linda Waggener I'm at the first Farmers Market in downtown Columbia this morning and can't help but check the locations of our police force to make sure everyone gathering here can feel safe from danger. In the back of my mind is the news of the Boston Marathon bombing and resulting week long manhunt and captures. My friend Mary tells me her brother-in-law participated in the Marathon and was about a block from the bombs when they went off.
