CAUD to send $615,831.96 figure to bonding company By Ed Waggener The Columbia/Adair Utility District (CAUD) Board, meeting Friday, March 22, 2013 at 4pmCT, voted 4-0 to send a settlement offer to the bonding company which acted as a surety for Southern Backhoe, Campellsville, KY for the failure of thecompany to complete the Downtown Project. The amount is $615,831.96. Board Attorney Marshall Loy was instructed to write the letter, which should go out Monday, March 25, 2013. The agreement calls for the bonding company to hire Stotts Construction Company of Columbia, the number 2 bidder on the original job, to finish the work.
