Super sleuth Ofc. Joshua Brockman, barely late, gets it right

Just a few minutes ago, at 8:47pmCT, super lawman Ofc. Joshua Brockman of the Columbia's finest, submitted in an all too modest manner, the correct answer to the Mystery Old Photo. For the record, Joe Hare's answer was not posted at the time Ofc. Brockman emailed CM:

Ofc. Josh Brockman writes
Ed ,you have covered your tracks this time. I'm going to give it a shot though. Adair Sales Company (Ford Dealership) 105 Campbellsville street - Josh
Ofc. Brockman: You're right. As usual. Thanks. - EW

Brilliant guess or brilliant deduction: Joe Hare got it right

The answer is in on the Mystery Photo: The old Adair Sales Showroom, 103-105 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY. It was the street and number we wanted and Joe Hare was first by 1 hour 47 minutes, hours after CM bedtime at 7pmCT, to send it in, however he came to submit the right answer to the puzzle:

Joe Hare writes:
My guess, and a guess only, is a Ford Garage located at 103-105 Campbellsville St. --Joe Hare

Sad, sad news for the Kentucky Arts scene

Robert Stone has conveyed a message - a body blow for the arts in this region of Kentucky - from Lebanon, TN, which we hope is only temporary:
"Tom Chaney stopped in Lebanon yesterday to tell me that the theater was at an end. Someone with $500,000 could sponsor one more year but I don't have that kind of money. It's sad and I am sad. I probably saw close to half of all the plays done there, from fall of 1990 until last December. The announcement is on the Hart County News-Herald website today." - ROBERT

Sends thank you for sandwich machine at Westlake

Celia Downey writes:
Ed, today at the hospital we receuved, what we call, a "sandwich machine." The refrigerated dispenser has a terrific variety of foods, including sandwiches, fresh vegetables with dip, little pizzas, soups, chicken wings, White Castles, burgers, and etc.

The prices are very affordable. We are are excited to have this convenience available to us since it provides a good selection of foods at a reasonable price.

The ER staff sends a great big thank you to those that supported the food initiative. We see this addition to our work world as a step forward. The patients families will also benefit from this availability. We say, "Good job," to those working to provide this for us. - Celia Downey
Thanks, Celia Downey. Very interesting. Maybe someone could send a photo of the new addition. - EW

One more hour to send Street & Number for Mystery Photo

Comments about: Photo 48602: Where Is It Mystery Picture Until 10amCT maybe longer

By Ed Waggener

There will be at least one more hour for someone to send the correct street and number(s) for the mystery photo

No one has yet sent the correct Street & Number for the Mystery Old Photo, but from the answers so far, clues abound, especially for enrolled CM readers who find clues everywhere. All the answers so far are for a location in Columbia, KY, and we'll add, that is true. We'll also add that if you are a detective on par with Ofc. Josh Brockman, there are enough clues that someone can instantly send the answer, right now, just by checking the right ColumbiaMagazine.com Daily News page, in depth.
Vicki Smith: Old Chevrolet dealership on Greensburg St. in Columbia?
Daryl Branham: looks like the old chevrolet motors building on greensburg st. formerly phelps motors and harvey ellis - Daryl Branham
W M Feese Jr: Hey Ed, Could the where is it photo be of the old Columbia Motors At 205 Burkesville St. Columbia, Ky? From the pic of what looks like a 1928 or 1929 Ford Model A I can assume it to be a Ford dealership and I believe since Morris Epperson and Lewis Merkley had the Ford dealership there for some length of time that could possibly be where this photo was taken. Just a guess on my part. Thanks, -W M Feese Jr
Jim Flowers: I think that is a picture of Adair Sales Co on Campbellsville street. Columbia KY. Ford Dealership - Jim Flowers
We'll post the details we have from Hilda Joyce Willis Jenkins and Chuck Christianson no sooner than 6pmCT, Wednesday, February 27, 2013. -EW

Please have more of these "where is it" contests, even if there is no prize involved. I enjoy them, even though sometimes I don't have a clue where the place is you've posted picture of. - Richard Raines
Thanks, Richard Raines - There will be more. So glad people like you, like me, find this area so intriguing. I've explored every new road I could find since I got my drivers license (1956), and I'm astounded at how much any noon time trip uncovers for me. Sounds like yours is a kindred spirit, one epitomized by Autis Brockman, who once told me, "I never see a road I don't want to go down." - EW
