The funeral service will be at 10amCT, Friday, October 26, at the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 2853 Highway 379, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Bodie Emerson officiating. Burial will be in the Reagan Cemetery, Jamestown, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, at the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.

He was the patriarch of a large, highly regarded Royville, KY, family, with many relatives in Russell and Adair Counties of South Central Kentucky. He leaves six direct living descendants. Mr. Grider attended Royville Friendship Church and was a home builder and remodeler

Donald Grider, 71, of Russell Springs, passed away Tuesday October 23, 2012 at his home after several months battling cancer.

Funeral services will be at 10amCT, Friday, October 26, 2012, at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with burial in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Russell County, KY. Bro. Charles Edwards and Bro. Jim Kingry will be the officiating clergy.

Our Place Thrift Shop, 624 Columbia Highway, Greensburg, KY

On November 1, 1997, a small group of women and men, led by Sister Virginia Bauer, opened a thrift store.

But this was not just any thrift shop. No, when we opened, we had no money, just people with faith, who saw a need and stepped up to try to meet that need.

COLUMBIA, KY - Area residents will have an opportunity to learn more about healthy living at a special event on October 29, 2012.

Lindsey Wilson College will inaugurate the Dr. Henry Baughman Visiting Fellows Program with a pair of public talks by the program's namesake on the A.P. White Campus. Baughman will inaugurate the lecture program with a talk at 10amCT October 29, 2012 in the Norma and Glen Hodge Center for Discipleship, 402 Helen Flatt Drive, and then another talk at 7pmCT, Monday, October 29, 2012 in the Doris and Bob Holloway Health & Wellness Center, 399 Williams St. Both talks are free and open to the public.

Evelyn Williams Service, Adair County, KY (1918-2012)

'Mrs. Service moved from Jackson, MS, to Columbia, KY with her daughter in June 2010, where she and Marie shared a home until the morning of her death. She was 93 years old at the time of her death, she lived a good life. She died as she lived, peacefully, and with dignity. Only God knows how much she is missed by her family.'

Evelyn Williams Service passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Westlake Regional Hospital, Columbia, KY.

The funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 2pmCT,. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Randy Copeland officiating. Visitation will be after 10amCT, Thursday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY.

Edith Maupin Rafferty, Taylor County, KY (1925-2012)

She was a native of Iowa and the matriarch of a large, highly regarded Taylor County, KY family. She was the widow of Everett Rafferty. She leaves 14 direct living descendants. She was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville and a wonderful childcare provider. She was a member of the Saloma Baptist Church
