Greensburg, KY Fire Department fights two fires in 24 hours By John Jessie, Public Affairs Officer News from the Greensburg, KY, Fire Department GREENSBURG, KY (2012-05-18 - 9pmCT) The City of Greensburg Fire Department responded to two structure fires in the last 24 hours. Kitchen fire at 106 Lewis Court: 1st house fire at 106 Lewis Court on Thursday night, May 17, 2012 at 18:59 hours. 15 firefighters and 3 trucks responded. Damage was contained to the kitchen area the rest of the house suffered extensive smoke damage Greensburg Fire Department was assisted by Green County EMS and Summersville Fire Department. Kitchen fire at Greensburg Village Apartments: The 2nd fire occurred at 9:24amCT on Friday morning, May 18, 2012. It was a reported fire at Greensburg Village apartments. Upon arrival fire in the kitchen of building 5 fire was contained to the 1 apartment and contained to the kitchen. The kitchen suffered extensive damage; the rest of the apartment suffered smoke and water damage. 2 trucks 14 firefighters were on the scene about 2 hrs others units responding were Green County EMS and Greensburg City Police.
