SkyWarn Class at Jones Chapel UMC draws large crowd

Click on headline for article with photo(s)

By Chad Parnell
News from Jones Chapel United Methodist Church

Nearly 50 people attended the SkyWarn weather training class held last Thursday, April 26, 2012. The event was hosted by Jones Chapel UMC as part of the Fourth Thursday Night Service series where we hope to educate our members and the community about various subjects. After our church and much of the community suffered hail damage earlier in the year, we felt this would be a fitting topic.

Jones Chapel United Methodist Church would especially like to thank Greg Thomas and the Adair County Emergency Management for helping to arrange the event. We would also like to thank those community members who attended the event, and, of course, meteorologists from the National Weather Service, Joe Sullivan and Ron Steve, and meteorologist Stephanie Midgett, from WBKO-TV, who presented the class.
