Adair County Baseball Pitcher Jared Denton picks Lindsey Wilson New Blue Raider is the son of Troy and Carla Denton of Columbia, KY Click on headline for story with photo(s) By Chris Wells, Lindsey Wilson Sports Information Director COLUMBIA, KY - Adair County leading pitcher Jared Denton signed an NAIA scholarship with the Lindsey Wilson College baseball team for the 2012-13 season, Blue Raider head coach Jonathan Burton announced on Wednesday, May 2, 2012. Denton posted the lowest ERA at Adair County in 2011 and 2010 and accumulated the most wins on the team in 2011 as well. In 2011, Denton threw 57-1/3 innings with a 1.47 ERA. He allowed just 12 earned runs on 51 hits for the year. On his way to a 3-4 record on the mound, Denton struck out 75 batters. Aside from his play with the Indians, Denton also won a 2010 American Legion State Championship with the Post 65 Mustangs. Denton is the son of Troy and Carla Denton and is undecided on a major at Lindsey Wilson. For Denton, the decision to sign with Lindsey Wilson was a life-long choice. "It's (LWC) a hometown school and I've always been a Blue Raider fan," said Denton. Lindsey Wilson is one of the hottest teams in the NAIA this season after posting 22 straight wins during the regular season - the longest streak in the nation. The Blue Raiders finished the regular season with a 38-12 record and 17-4 mark against Mid-South Conference teams to capture the program's first MSC Championship. - Chris Wells This story was posted on 2012-05-02 11:29:38
