Scenic Washington Co., KY: St. Rose Church

2011-04-29 - Near Springfield, KY - Photo by Kenny Browning, the Feedman.
868 Loretto RD, Springfield, KYChurch on the Hill: "Located on KY 152 , near Springfield in Washington County, Kentucky. Have been taking photos of this church from time to time with none of them doing it justice. A beautiful day today and for a change took the camera with me while delivering feed. This one may be the Keeper!," writes Kenny Browning, the Feedman. "I knew that St. Rose was an old church, and was listed on the National Historic Site List, but like a lot of things that are in your backyard, you take them for granted. The existing church was built in 1854 with the older part incorporated into the new construction. I always wondered why part of it was not stone like the larger portion. For those who like delving into the history of buildings, see St. Rose Priory" --Kenny Browning If you go: The church is approximately 47.5 miles north of Downtown Columbia, KY. Next previous Billy Joe Fudge/Kentucky Color : Kentucky Color - Transplanted Trillium

By Billy Joe Fudge, Retired District ForesterKentucky Division of Forestry

This ol' Hackberry is indicative of how, as we close in on Heaven's Golden Gates, we can show a little wear and tear from life's many storms. Sometimes there are many layers of scars which are, as I used to tell my children and I still tell my grandchildren, bragging rights.

This ol' Hackberry has weathered many storms and is still reaching toward the Heavens in a mighty and majestic fashion and is due our respect and allegiance.

As you travel along life's many paths full of vim, vinegar, and youthful vigor and have the chance to encounter some of these ol' Hackberries maybe driving a car in an erratic manor, or taking a lot of time in the checkout lane, or holding up traffic hobbling across the street, or talking too loud at the Doctor's office, or giving unwanted advice; just remember that he or she is covered with layers of scars (bragging rights) and that they are still reaching toward the Heavens...in a mighty and majestic way.

Chadwick Collins writes:
I concur, only my vote would be for a iPhone/iPad app. I would understand if the SC market is a higher demand area than for the Denver, CO metro area where I reside.Chadwick Collins
Thanks Chadwick. So as not to give away strategic CM marketing strategy, we can't reveal whether the South Carolina or Denver, Colorado metro area has a higher demand, but we do want you to know that both are high priorities. All we can say, for now, is that while CM is not yet the number one Internet Site in either, we do plan major efforts to dominate these two lucrative demographics. -EW
