Tribute to Mr. Rollin Thomas Stone of Cane Valley, KY

Comments re article 44010 Cane Valley KY. 1898 a beautiful little city

By E.H. Lepiarczyk

I really enjoyed the article that "Jim" republished in _CM_ 103 years after it was originally published.

Cane Valley is the community where the maternal ancestors of my esteemed niece, Miss Bailey Ann Taylor Stone, lived. I'm certain they were pioneers of the Cane Valley community.

Her Stone ancestral family members lived in the proximity of Cane Valley for quite a few generations. My niece's great-grandfather, Mr. Rollin Thomas Stone, is probably the oldest member of the Stone family to have been born in the Cane Valley community. Mr. Stone lives with family members in Louisville.

Mr. Stone's family left Cane Valley for Louisville when he was a young boy. Since my niece graced our Lepiarczyk family with her presence in 1998, Mr. Stone has been one of my favorite Stone family members whom I have known through the years.

Being in his ninth decade of age, he possesses a love of his Cane Valley heritage that is truly astounding. His knowledge and appreciation of history are also astounding. Undoubtedly Mr. Stone is a family, Cane Valley, Adair County, Kentucky, United States of America, and world treasure!

May God bless all members of the Stone family always; especially whose ancestors were among the first Adair County families who called Cane Valley their home during their lifetimes. I believe an historic Stone Cemetery is located in the proximity of Cane Valley.
