Hope Fund for Sarah Irvin Gardner at UCB

Two ways to help: 1) Financially 2) Through Prayers, whether one is able to give otherwise or not

A Hope Fund for Sarah Irvin Gardner has been set up at United Citizens Bank in Columbia to help cover her mounting medical expenses. If you would like to contribute, you may donate at either location - 700 Jamestown Street or on North 55 at the Bypass, Columbia, KY.

Sarah was diagnosed with brain cancer in June 2007 at the age of 26 and had surgery to remove most of the tumor. For two years, Sarah underwent radiation and chemotherapy to fight the cancer that was left. In January 2010 Sarah and her husband, Stephen, were thrilled to learn that they were expecting their first child.

Fixing to eat another Elk Burger

Hamburger aficionado rates Elk Burger better than Buffalo and Buffalo better than Beef - and she really likes a good hamburger

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

If you haven't tried the Elk Burger at Buffalo Hills you have missed a great burger. My husband and I tried one yesterday and we will be back to eat another.

We liked the Buffalo Burger, but the Elk is better. It is a moist juicy burger with lots of flavor.

We tried the meat without anything on it first so we know the meat was great tasting on its own, but then we added the lettuce, tomato and onion and it was better than any beef burger that I have ever eaten and I really like a good hamburger.

No, they aren't paying me to advertise for them but I think we should let the people know when something is good.

s/M.E. Lewis

Surprising Blue Raider softball season ends - on one pitch

'With no departing seniors, Lindsey Wilson will likely be among the favorites to win the MSC Championship again in 2011 and make another run at the NAIA National Championship.' -DAN WHITE
'Simon Fraser University just beat Concordia (OR) University 7-6 in 12 innings. Concordia had the bases loaded with two outs, but their final batter struck out swinging to end the game -- and the Blue Raiders' season. So LWC basically came within a pitch of advancing to the Final 8. Still, a very good season for a rookie college softball coach (Ashley McCool)' -DUANE BONIFER at 8:35pmCT, May 24, 2010

By Dan White
News from Lindsey Wilson Sports Information

DECATUR, AL - Concordia (OR) University lasted 13 innings against Simon Fraser (BC) University, but the Cavs came up just short in a 7-5 loss against the Clan who punched their ticket to the eight-team double elimination bracket at the NAIA National Championship with a 3-0 record in pool play.

The Blue Raiders - making their first appearance at the national championship - finished with a 2-1 record in pool play, while Concordia finished 2-1 as well and Bellevue (NE) University finished 0-3.
