Feedback: Likes idea of G.R.A.S., AYDC joint work with animals

"Let AYDC help G.R.A.S. reduce euthanasia rate"

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

I would vote for such a positive idea! I know animals help humans relieve grief; I call it channel changing.

Jennifer Warren Coffey was my niece and very dear to my heart. Her mother and dad and I grew up very close and have remained that way all our lives. Her death was the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with in my life and I felt trapped in a pit of grief I could not climb out of.

Food: Favorite hotdog eaten in Columbia--Columbia, MO

Wienerschnitzel Dog: with chili, sauerkraut, onions, cheese, mustard

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

When I was a kid growing up in Columbia, Missouri, my mother would take us to this little place called Der Weinerschnitzel. There we would get a weinerschnitzel dog which was a hotdog with chili, saurkraut, onions, cheese, and mustard. They were really the best hotdogs I have ever eaten. It would be great if the Dairy Dip would introduce this one.

Commentary: Let AYDC help G.R.A.S. reduce euthanasia rate

High euthanasia rate might be reduced, kids at juvenile facility next door could help care for animals. It works to bring out the good side in residents, she thinks, and would benefit the animals so much.

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

I was talking to one of the workers at the Green River Animal Shelter and she told me that the shelter has a 70% euthanasia rate.

I have read different articles in the last few years where prisons are beginning to use the inmates to take care of animals of this kind. Why can't we get a program going that allows the inmates at the juvenile facility to help out with the care of the animals at our shelter and maybe eliminate some of the euthanising that is being done and very possibly be beneficial to the inmates as well.
