Noontime Organ Recitals begin Sept. 23, 2008 at Ransdell

Five Tuesday noon organ recitals are scheduled through April 14, 2008

The Campbellsville University School of Music is launching a new Tuesday Noontime Organ Recital Series to feature the organ in Ransdell Chapel, according to Dr. Wesley Roberts, professor of music, who will be the first organist.

The sessions begin September 23, 2008, and each program will be approximately 30 minutes in length beginning at 12:05pmET and ending at 12:35pmET.

WRH 2008 Health Fair: The Auxiliary Outdoor Cafe

LILA LOY, EVELYN PHELPS, and PAULINE DAVENPORT, front, and MARY HADLEY, back, members of the Westlake Regional Hospital Auxiliary, were part of the crew of the auxiliary's outdoor cafe, set up with tables and chairs in a tent by the lobby entrance. The cafe stayed busy all morning, serving coffee and cold drinks, breakfast sandwiches, and homemade baked goods. Pauline Davenport is the WRH Director of Marketing.

LWC soccer (M) suffer 1st loss of season at Lindsey Wilson Park

NAIA nationally ranked No. 1 Raiders played without four regulars in loss to Montreat (NC) College in match this afternoon. Next match is Saturday, September 20, 2008, at home in Columbia

The Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season today 1-0 in overtime against Montreat (NC) College at Lindsey Wilson Park.

Despite out-shooting Montreat 13-5 for the match, the Blue Raiders had no answer for Montreat junior goalkeeper Howard Fisher. Fisher stopped all six Blue Raider shots on goal for the clean sheet.

Numbers won't be complete till Monday, but WRH fair was big

With 24 photos now in 2008 WRH Health Fair Album; more being added

The numbers won't be tallied until Monday, but the participation in the 2008 Westlake Regional Hospital Health Fair were huges this year. Whether a record number of participants were served this year is not yet known, but it appeared that could be the case.

The winner of the Color Tv given away at the Fair was Sandy Fry.

The Fair was underway before it was offically set to start--7:00am to noonCT, --and at 5:00am crowds had already started gathering as last minute touches were put on booths at the fair.

At 5:45amCT the queue for the last blood draw had already grown to over 20 people. The blood draw will continue through 10:00amCT this morning and long lines prevailed most of the morning.

A color television will be given away at the fair today.

It is sometimes easy to be critical of others shortcomings.

There is no need to put September 11th on every sign post and paper in town.

There is not one single person that didn't stop and pause in remembrance of September 11, 2008. This I feel sure of.

Hurricane Center says Ike will bring Sunday storms here

Adair County may get thunderstorms September 14, 2008 as aftermath of Ike

The National Weather Service's National Hurricane Center has issued a potential 3-day track area for the aftermath of Hurricane Ike, which indicates that the northern counties of Kentucky will receive sustained winds of under 39 miles per hour during the late night of Saturday, September 13, and through 7:00pm Sunday, September 14, 2008.

LWC Soccer (Women) defeats Saint Xavier

Play in KELME Classic at Lindsey Park continues tonight, Saturday, September 13, 2008, at 5:00pmCT

The Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team defeated Saint Xavier (IL) University 5-1 tonight in the opener of the KELME Classic at Lindsey Wilson Park.

Lindsey Wilson controlled the match from the very beginning. Junior defender Lorna Heaton put one in the back of the net in the tenth minute for the 1-0 lead.

Today: Saturday, September 13, 2008!- 7:00AM to NOON CST!
A COLOR TELEVISION WILL BE GIVEN AWAY!

At the Health Fair . . . We are offering over $300.009 in health screenings for only $12.00 and there will be many healthcare-related booths and much more. Blood drawing from 6:30 A.M. To 10:30 A.M. Blood will be drawn from your arm for more than 30 different analyses, which include a complete blood count (CBC) a chemistry profile with HDL Cholesterol and a Thyroid profile. Also available are three free Colo-rectal cancer screens. The PSA cancer screen is recommended for men over 50 or men who meet any of he following three criteria: (1) Family history of cancer of the prostate or (2) had a vasectomy, or (3) is a black American.

The PSA will be an additional cost of $8.00.

REMEMBER TO FAST, having only water to drink for 12 hours before your blood draw.
Due to the changes in federal law regarding a patient's right to privacy, we have had to make some changes in the way we distribute lab results. You may pick up you own results. ACHS Band at Glasgow for S KY Marching Band Classic

The Adair County Marching Band, under the direction of Tim Allen, will be appearing in the second competition of the 2008 season this evening at the South Central Kentucky Marching Band at Glasgow High School, 1601 Columbia Avenue, Glasgow, KY.

Bands from 17 schools, including the host school which will not compete, are in the lineup in the lineup.

Adair County, a Class AAA band, will take the field at 6:30pmCT.

The Columbia Woman's Club will have a booth at the Westlake Health Fair, Saturday, September 13, 2008. We will distribute literature about The Bethany House in Somerset which provides shelter for victims of domestic violence.
