ACHS Band at Glasgow for S KY Marching Band Classic

The Adair County Marching Band, under the direction of Tim Allen, will be appearing in the second competition of the 2008 season this evening at the South Central Kentucky Marching Band at Glasgow High School, 1601 Columbia Avenue, Glasgow, KY.

Bands from 17 schools, including the host school which will not compete, are in the lineup in the lineup.

Adair County, a Class AAA band, will take the field at 6:30pmCT.



The AAA class competition starts at 6:15pm. Class AAA is the largest class, with seven bands and also includes Hart County, Larue County, Russell County, Warren East, Breckinridge County, and Taylor County. Russell County is under the direction of former ACHS band member Andy Critz, who is now in his second year.

ACHS is performing "Supernatural" in 2008, and has a new field commander, Casey Feese.

Competition starts at 4:30pm, with five Class A and Class AA bands from Caverna, Cumberland County, Green County, Metcalfe County, and Monroe County competing.

AAAA bands Marion County and Logan County, AAAAA bands Barren County and North Hardin take the starting at 8:30amCT, with the host school performing following the competition.

The awards will be presented at 9:45pmCT.

The 2008 ACHS Marching Band got off to a great start Saturday, September 6, 2008, at Horse Cave, winning the Caverna Marching Band Festival Grand Championship, Best in Class, and other awards. The band is under the direction of Mr. Tim Allen. His assistant is Mr. Matt Emerson.

The band is currently raising funds for the 2009 Macy's Day Competition. DIRECTIONS: Glasgow High School is on the east side of Glasgow. Option one is to take the Louie B. Nunn Parkway west to the Edmonton/Glasgow exit and travel west on US68/KY 80 which becomes Columbia Avenue in the Glasgow City Limits and Glasgow High School will be on the right at 1601 Columbia Avenue; or, continue west on the Louie B. Nunn to the first Glasgow Exit, travel north to Columbia Avenue, then take a right for 1.6 miles to Glasgow High School, on the left with this option.
