She's a Russell Springs, KY, native and RCHS graduate

By Duane Bonifer, LWC Director of Public Affairs

The beautiful story of Emmett the water dog

Dumped by an unthinking ignoramus, little Emmett was rescued by the nice lady and man whose driveway entrance says, in dog language, "suckers live here." Emmett is now a part of a loving family, and is learning to enjoy Green River Lake safely

By Barbara Armitage

On Sunday, July 12th, on my way home from the fairgrounds, this precious puppy was running in the middle of Hwy 206 at Bull Run Road.

Someone had dumped the little guy. I can't express my thoughts about this type of person or just how irresponsible I find this action. If anyone has an unwanted pet, www.Columbiamagazine.com will connect them with someone who can give the pet a good home. It's that simple. I don't know why anyone would dump a little fellow like Emmet.

Feedback: A Great Celebration

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

I was lookiing at your site and something just hit me in the face--your celebrations page. I was sitting here thinking how all of us make sure we put someones birthday, anniversary, or new arrival on here. There is a greater celebration we should all think of everyday, life. We should thank God each and everyday for all he does for us. We should "celebrate" God.

Too many people now days have put God on the back burner and then wonder why so many bad things are happening. They fuss and complain about the high gas prices, grocery prices, etc. We should all thank God that we have food, gas to put in our vehicles to be able to get to that job God has provided for us. I thank God for all he has done for me and my family!

I would just like to celebrate Jesus for be our Lord and Savior.

s/Jennifer

Children of Janice Corbin express thanks

Children of Janice Corbin express thanks"She was such an amazing person and we thought she had been one of the lucky ones and beat the cancer."

Janice Corbin (1940-2008)

As children, we can't comprehend or fully realize the meaning of our mother's love. How tender and how wise, the patience and forgiveness that are part of every day. The unexpected "little things" she does in her own way.

Years go by before we can look back on life and see through older eyes and wiser hearts her love and loyalty. And yet it's these and other things we'll hold so dear, for memories of her steadfast love will keep her ever near.
