Russell County get $2 million block grant for Bruss expansion Governor Beshear makes announcement today, Friday, July 25 By Cindy Lanham, Commonwealth News Center Gov. Steve Beshear and the Department for Local Government (DLG) have awarded Russell County a $2,000,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to assist in the expansion of an existing manufacturing industry which will create 150 new jobs. The Russell County Industrial Development Authority will use the funds to purchase equipment for a capitalize lease to Bruss North America, Inc. for an expansion that will focus on producing components for Chrysler's new Phoenix V-6 World Engine. The company specializes in the manufacture of sealing systems for transmissions and engines and other related automotive parts. "The Breeding Area Volunteer Fire Department in Adair County does a great job in keeping the community safe, and what's more is that they do it through volunteer efforts," Whitfield said. CU School of Music invites public to final concert of summer LOCAL ARTS SCENE The Campbellsville University School of Music will host it final concert of the summer on Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at 6:00pmCT/7:00pmET, in the Gheens Recital Hall. The concert will feature graduate students from Taiwan at CU, most of whom are in their third summer of study at Campbellsville University.
