Remembering: Bridget Karnes, May 27, 1963 - March 4, 2008 To the family and friends of one of the A.C.E.S. family's own, Bridget Karnes We at Adair County Elementary School are deeply saddened by the sudden loss of one of our own, Ms. Bridget Karnes. From before the inception of our school Ms. Bridget was a great part of the ACES family. She was gracious enough to share her office space with us as we had a make shift office in the Technology Office before our school was even completed. After our school was completed she worked very diligently to help our librarians get everything ready for our students. Without the work of Ms. Bridget and other volunteers our library opening would have been delayed by months. 2008 Relay 4 Life: Two more events to add to list EVENTS Friends for a Cure Relay 4 Life Gospel singing, chili supper Friends for a Cure Relay For Life Team is sponsoring a chili, soup and bean supper along with Gospel Singing on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the new Bloomington Chapel Fellowship Hall which is located across from the church. Community was only 362 checklists short of being No. 1 in America!By Ed Waggener Bob Bethel, Columbia, KY, wrote to remind us of Columbia's lofty standing, which he thought was pretty good, and we agree. "Did you check out the final Kentucky tally ? We were second, almost first !!!!," he wrote. Our thanks to Mr. Bethel for the reminder Adair County did so well. The Great Backyard Bird Count is over, and in the final tally, Columbia (129) came in narrowly behind one of Kentucky's other two principal cities, Louisville (132), and way ahead of another, Lexington (118), according to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society, sponsors of the event. ACHS Science Club starts bottle & can recycling project By Jane Smith The Adair County Science Club Headed by Susan Peck, Cameron Campbell, Chris Yates, Chris Persinger, and Megan Keltner, and many more have started a bottle and can recycling project at Adair County High School.< I would just like to praise the efforts of these students and sponsors for trying to make our world a little bit better.
