Obituary: Artie McIntyre, 88

OBITUARIES

Mrs. McIntyre was member of a respected Cane Valley family. She was a member of the St. Mark United Methodist Church, Campbellsville, KY

Mr. Artie McIntyre, 88, a resident of Medco Center of Campbellsville, KY, formerly of Adair County, KY, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at 7:25pm at the Medco Center of Campbellsville.

The funeral service will be Saturday, March 8, 2008, at 2:00pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, Liberty Road, Columbia, KY.


She was born October 18, 1919, the daughter of the late John and Lilly Page Claywell and the widow of Paul McIntyre, who preceded her in death on April 17, 1996.

She is survived by the following:
  • Two daughters: Margaret Kimbler and her husband James, Cane Valley, KY; and Sandy Newton and her husband Jimmy of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two brothers: Walter Claywell of Dayton, OH; and Howard Claywell of New Castle, IN

  • Four sisters: Lorene Cross, IN; Ira Lee Thomas, New Castle, IN; Geneva Keith, Port Arthur, TX, and Nell Smoot, Louisville, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Jackie and Jimmy Kimbler, and Mark & Mike Newton

  • Three step-grandchildren: Cortney Keith, and Steven and Aaron Earls

  • Six great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by one brother, Reed Claywell.Mrs. McIntyre was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church in Campbellsville, KY, and homemaker.

Visitation will be after 4:00pmCT, Friday, March 7, 2008, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, Columbia, KY.In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of the a gift to the Gideon Memorial Bible program and may be made at the funeral home.
