Chief Jason Rector, Knifley Area Fire Department Lieutenant Jason Upchurch has been awarded Knifley Area Volunteer Fire Department Firefighter of the Year. The honor was given for his dedication to the department as well as the community. The award presentation, recognition of 20 years of service to three members, and the announcement of officers for the coming two years were made at the Knifley Area Volunteer Fire Department annual Christmas dinner and awards banquet December 19, 2006, held at the KAVFD building.
