Lieutenant Jason Upchurch is KAVFD Firefighter of the Year

Darrell Daker, Gayla Baker, and Kenneth Humphress honored. Officers for 2007-2009 announced

Lieutenant Jason Upchurch has been awarded Knifley Area Volunteer Fire Department Firefighter of the Year. The honor was given for his dedication to the department as well as the community.

The award presentation, recognition of 20 years of service to three members, and the announcement of officers for the coming two years were made at the Knifley Area Volunteer Fire Department annual Christmas dinner and awards banquet December 19, 2006, held at the KAVFD building.

Darrell Daker, Gayla Baker, and Kenneth Humphress were awarded (20) twenty years of service and dedication awards.



The awards were given by Chief Jackie Perkins.

The following officers for 2007-2009 are as follows:
  • Chief: Jackie Perkins

  • Asst. Chief: Jason Rector

  • Lieutenant: Jason Upchurch

  • Chief Engineer: Charles Wethington

  • Asst. Engineer: Brett Farmer

  • Battalion Chief: C.R. Drake-Pellyton Station

  • Training Officer: Darrell Baker

  • Secretary: Margaret Wethington

  • Treasurer: Gayla Baker
