Louise Gray, 83, Taylor County, KY (1934-2018)

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church where she enjoyed many activities with the Young At Heart Group and had dedicated more than 50 years to teaching Sunday School both there and at Robinson Creek Baptist Church. She loved life, loved shopping and love taking care of others.

Louise Gray of Campbellsville passed over Jordan Sunday, May 6, 2018 in Campbellsville at the age of 83.

The funeral service will be at 10amCT/11amET Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home by Rev. Brad Lauer. Visitation will be from 4-7pmCT/5-8pmET Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Brookside Cemetery.

Despite the rainy weather, the Open House/Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was a huge success for The Trendy Farmhouse, this past Saturday, May 5, 2018. "We are excited to be Columbia's premier shop for custom furniture and home decor. Everyone who came to the Open House were pleased by the outstanding talents of our vendors. It was nice to catch up with repeat customers and meet new ones," said Dan Reeves, owner of Farm2Furniture.com, LLC.

Alice Marie Murphy, 79, Adair County, KY (1939-2018)

Marie was a member of Hadley Community Church and a homemaker, she greatly enjoyed the Christmas season. She was a member of a large, respected Adair County, KY, family, the daughter of the late John Edwin and Eva Lee Janes Sneed. her husband, Charles Murphy, survives. She leaves 11 direct and one step living descendants.

Indictments brought against 9 individuals from Campbellsville, Summersville, and Greensburg, KY on charges including assault, burglary, possession, trafficking, and intimidation.

Traffic Advisory- Lane closures WKY Parkway in Hardin Co. KY

Short delays expected, especially during peak travel hours

ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (Mon 7 May 2018) Daytime lane closures begin today (Monday) on the Western Kentucky Parkway Rehabilitation project. Motorists will be moved the inside (left) lane as work takes place in the outside (right) lane in each direction between Rhudes Creek Bridge (Mile Point 130.7) and US 31W Bypass (Mile Point 135.8). This closure will remain in place for approximately two months.

Dr. J.M. Stephenson, 97, Burkesville, oldest practicing dentist in Kentucky

He was born on Crocus Creek in Cumberland County, KY. As a young man Dr. Stephenson was called to serve his country in the military, serving three years, three months, and seven days. He served overseas duty in Europe under the leadership of General George S. Patton where he received the Purple Heart during battle in Luxembourg and the Bronze Star Medal at the Siegfried Line in Germany. He was the last living founding member of Cumberland County VFW Post 5419. He was the widower of Hazel Christine Bybee of Columbia, KY, to whom he was united in marriage on August 19, 1949 in Columbia, KY. Dr. Stephenson was a very active member of Burkesville First United Methodist Church for many years. He became a member of Cumberland Lodge #413 F & AM in November 1956 and was also a member of the Scottish Rite. He was a 1941 graduate of Marrowbone High School, a 1947 graduate of Lindsey Wilson College, a 1949 graduate of Western Kentucky University, and a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. He was the patriarch of an outstanding Kentucky family.

Dr. Julius Middleton "J.M." Stephenson, age 97 1/2, of Burkesville, KY, who was the oldest practicing dentist in the Commonwealth of Kentucky passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 09, 2018 at 2pmCT, at Burkesville First United Methodist Church, 26 S Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with burial in Burkesville Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 08, 2018 at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home beginning at 2pmCT and continuing until 1pmCT on Wednesday. Masonic Rites will be conducted at 7pmCT on Tuesday evening at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home. The lodge will open at 6pmCT.
