Terry Young, 54, Cumberland County, KY (1963-2018)

Terry loved Harley-Davidson motorcycles and had worked as a welder in the construction industry.

Terry Young, age 54 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Cumberland County Hospital. He was born on October 25, 1963 in Cumberland County, KY to the late Hildreth Young and Sarah Edna Gray Wolfe.

Terry had chosen cremation and there will be no services.

Bobbie Reid Shirley, 74, Green County, KY (1943-2018)

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. He was a self-employed carpenter and electrician, and a Vietnam Veteran having served in the United States Army. He was the son of the late son of the late Edwin Paul Shirley and Dorothy Harris Shirley. His wife of 50 years, Maedell Akin Shirley, survives.

Mr. Bobbie Reid Shirley of Greensburg, KY departed this life Sunday, February 25, 2018 at his home in the Ebenezer Community

The funeral services will be conducted at 1pmCT Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 South Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Union Chapel Cemetery in Metcalfe County, with full military honors conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation is requested from 4-8pmCT, Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Wednesday until time of the funeral service.

Pallbearers are Joey Ferguson, Guy Douglas Corbin, Alex Corbin, Justin Durrett, Terrill Williams and Clark Marshall. Honorary Pallbearers are Bobby Durrett, Jerry Corbin, Rhuel Bishop, Brad Chris, Tom Hollenbeck, Robert Earhart and Philip Cox.

Floyd Nelson (Jimmie) O'Banion, Green County, KY (1922-2018)

Floyd Nelson "Jimmie" O'Banion of Greensburg, KY, died Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the V.A. Center in Louisville. He was 95 years, 8 months, and 22 days of age.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10amCT Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 South Main Street Greensburg, KY. Burial will follow in the New Salem Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. Pinewood Shopping Center announces two more businesses

Dollar Tree signs letter of intent to build an 8,500 s.f. building. Site work on the Magic Market, a Marathon branded convenience store, will begin within few days. Mike Neal and Mike Stephens announce that the original center is now 100% filled. "And you haven't seen anything yet," Mike Neal said, as development in 'New Columbia,' picks up, and optimism about Columbia's future in retail, commerce, hospitality, and health care abounds. Judge Stephens announces possibility of a 54-bed specialty hospital in Columbia's re-emergence as a health care center. But the really big news at the center, they say, is 3trees church, business office, and school.

Leonard Waymon McGaha, 94, Adair Co., KY, native (1923-2018)

He was a member of the First Church of God – Evendale, a proud veteran of World War II, an avid musician and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie R. Rayburn McGaha, eight brothers, three sisters and a son-in-law.

Tornado hits Grab-Donansburg area of Green Co. KY 24 Feb 2018

Tornado's path mapped by Kyle Davis stretched about one mile along KY 88 East of Donansburg, with heaviest damage on Indus & Shirley Pickett's five acre farm, where two barns were destroyed and many trees were blown down.

The farm of Indus and Shirley Pickett at the corner of Hwy 88 and Grab Road in Green County, KY was hardest hit by a tornado during Saturday nights storms, 24 February 2018.

At 10:30pmCT, Saturday night, after getting a warning call from their daughter LaNetta, they were in their basement when they felt the house above them shake. The electricity went off and the winds roared outside.

Fatality collision in Marion County takes two lives

One person pronounced dead at the scene; another pronounced dead at Springview Hospital. Three others suffer injuries. Tpr. Charles Hedgespeth was assisted at the scene by the Marion County Sheriff's office, EMS, Fire and Rescue, Coroner, Lebanon Fire Department and additional KSP units.

LEBANON, KY (25 Feb 2018) – Tpr. Charles Hedgespeth is investigating a collision that occurred today at 10:51 EST, one mile west of Lebanon on KY 208.

17-year-old Olivia Ford, of Lebanon, was operating a northbound 2015 Chevy Camaro when the vehicle dropped off of the right shoulder.
