Be on the lookout for Frost Flowers when you walk

2017-11-26 - Cumberland County, KY - Photo by Billy Joe Fudge.
On this frosty Sunday morning, we're revisiting a discovery by an admired writer/photographer who reported Frost Flowers 'growing' nearby in 2009. That was when naturalist Billy Joe Fudge first brought the beautiful creations to our attention. He'd found a large patch of Frost Flowers on the Chowning Farm at Amandaville in northern Cumberland Co., KY. He advised that they are so delicate, the slightest touch begins an immediate meltdown. By sharing the discovery, he shared the blessing with all of us who were awed by our first sighting of them. When reading time allows, click here and revisit some 80 Frost Flower notes and pictures in ColumbiaMagazine.com archives. -- Linda Waggener
