He was a native of Shelby County, IN, and a resident of Russell County, KY, at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Kathleen (Brown) & Asa Russell. His wife, Debbie Popplewell Russell, survives. He leaves 17 direct living descendants.

Gary Russell, 55 of Russell Springs, KY passed away suddenly on November 22, 2017, at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.

Funeral Services for Gary Russell will be Saturday November 25, 2017 1pmCT, at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY with Bro. Phillip Miller officiating. Visitation was after 11amCT, Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial is in the Jamestown Cemetery, 201 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY.



Gary Russell, 55, Russell Springs, KY (1962-2017)


Gary was born April 23, 1962 in Shelbyville, Shelby County, IN. He was a son of the late Kathleen (Brown) & Asa Russell.He died November 22, 2017, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 55 years, seven months, and 30 days.

He is survived by his wife Debbie (Popplewell) Russell, and the following:
  • Three sons: Jeremy Birdwell, Garren and Andy Russell

  • Two daughters: Tonya Dykes and Jonie Mann

  • Five brothers: Lewis, Larry, Jamie, Ricky and Steven Russell

  • Five sisters: Patricia Justice, Joann Lawless, Patty Russell, Margaret Major and Kay Robertson

  • Ten grandchildren

  • Two great grandchildren also survive
