James Beckner, 83, Russell Co., KY (1933-2017)

He was a native of Ingalls, IN, and a resident of Russell Springs, KY, at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Lloyd Beckner & Cecil Tinney Johns. He leaves 34 direct living descendants, spanning four generations.

Funeral services for James Beckner will be 12:30pmCT, Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Elvis Tucker officiating. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Monday, January 23, 2017, and after 11amCT, Tuesday until funeral time at 1pmCT. Interment will be in the Whittle Cemetery.

'She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Christian Church. Wilma enjoyed many years in the restaurant and catering business. Cooking was a true passion of hers. He was the son of the late Ernest Moore & Cloteel (Bybee) Moore. His wife, Evie Birge Moore, survives. he leaves 15 direct living descendants.

Shirley Ann Caulk Waddle, 80, Taylor County, KY (1936-2017)

She was a retired Health and Physical Education in the Taylor County School system. Her husband of over 60 years, Fred Waddle, survives. She leaves two direct living descendants. She was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church.

Edith Chloe Harris Mariz, Taylor Co., KY/Metcalfe Co. native (1928-2017)

She was described as a very classy lady. This was probably due to her extensive collection of jewelry and ladies' fashion hats. It was only natural that she was involved in the Red Hatters Club and Taylor Regional Hospital Auxillary. Her love of fashion was very evident in the way she cared for and coordinated her closet. She was a native of Metcalfe County, KY, and leaves many family members in Adair, Taylor, Metcalfe and other areas of Kentucky and elsewhere.

Fulton Co., KY store owner pleads guilty in kickbacks case

KENTUCKY PUBLIC CORRUPTION CASE - 'Fulton County contract supplier guilty of giving kickbacks tied to construction of Fulton County Detention center . . . According to the plea agreement, Homra (supplier) is the owner of The Leader Store located in Fulton, Kentucky. His company often sold building materials to Fulton County as part of the Detention Center expansion project. Homra allowed Parnell to use The Leader Store as a middleman company for building supplies ordered during the project and paid Parnell cash kickbacks while the project was ongoing.'

Russell for his role in a conspiracy to defraud Fulton County citizens, through kickbacks and concealment of costs associated with work performed on the 2015 Fulton County Detention Center expansion, announced United States Attorney John E. Kuhn, Jr.
