James Beckner, 83, of Russell Springs, died Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.

Funeral services for James Beckner will be 12:30pmCT, Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Elvis Tucker officiating. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Monday, January 23, 2017, and after 11amCT, Tuesday until funeral time at 1pmCT. Interment will be in the Whittle Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers: Phillip Stephens, Kyle Akers, Jeremiah Grider Daniel Howard, Trenton Bennett, Trevor Bennett.

Honorary Pallbearers: Dale Lane, and Dale Stephens.

James Beckner was born May 12, 1933 in Ingalls, Madison County, IN. He was the son of the late Lloyd Beckner & Cecil Tinney Johns. He died Friday, January 20, 2017, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 83 years, eight months, and eight days.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Timmy Beckner; five brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include:
  • Four children: Kathy (Harber) Howard, Atlanta, IN; Donna Sibley, Russell Springs, KY; Barbara (Marty) Grider, Russell Springs, KY; and James (Mary Ann) Beckner, Jr., Russell Springs, KY

  • Nine grandchildren

  • Seventeen great grandchildren

  • Four great great grandchildren
