This is in response to Comments re photo 67526 Frank Dickerson On keeping the home ties who wrote last week, happy to discover Knifley schoolmates out and about, and of keeping his ties to home.

What's the best way to keep from sinking into depression when you experience one loss after another? Thank you for writing and keeping in touch! --Linda Waggener

Celia, Thanks much for the kind words. The Grand Alleee is part of Beckley Creek Park, in The Parklands of Floyds Fork, just off Shelbyville Road in Eastern Jefferson County. There are many acres that have been seeded with wildflowers and allowed to grow "wild," which makes for excellent birdwatching. --Pen

Kids in Hot Cars Are a Deadly Combination

KSP offers safety tips to prevent tragedy during summer heat

By Les J. Williams

Frankfort, KY - With the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicting that most of the U.S. will face well above average temperatures this summer, Kentucky State Police is warning parents and caregivers about the fatal dangers posed by leaving children in hot cars.

"Heat stroke is the leading cause of non-crash related deaths for children ages 14 and younger," says Sgt. Michael Webb, a spokesman for the agency. "Your car can become an oven very quickly, reaching temperatures of 125 degrees in minutes even with the windows cracked."

"A child's body heats up three to five times faster than that of an adult," adds Webb, "and heat stroke can occur in temperatures as low as 57 degrees. On an 80-degree day, a car can reach deadly levels in just 10 minutes."

Billly Joe Fudge - on the efficiency of 'Ain't'

Great Wooded South Grammarian University Prof. B.J. Fudge writes:
You know that I just recently discovered that 'ain't' is a combination, "a" for plural and "I" for singular, contraction. Saves time and effort to have just one contraction to deal with rather than two. - Billy Joe Fudge
Thanks - As one sopping up all the wisdom I can adsorb, I appreciate the additional wisdom, although at this stage of withering away, each additional nugget seems to prompt 'out of memory' dialogue box and I find two items are booted out of storage, indiscriminately. - Old Ed
