By Amber Hale, Public Information Officer KYTC District 8, Somerset KY SOMERSET, KY (8 Mar 2016) - KY 449 in Cumberland County will be temporarily closed tomorrow, March 9, 2016, between mile points 7 to mile point 8 as crews perform slide repair maintenance. Traffic can access KY 449 by use of KY 1351 to KY 90 east to KY 61 south then back to KY 449. The closure will begin approximately 8:30amCT and is expected to last approximately 8 hours. Duration of closure is subject to change. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to allow extra time in reaching their destinations. CUMC Women's club supports LWC international students By Duane Bonifer Members of The United Methodist Church-Women's Club of Columbia United Methodist Church recently gave $50 to help international students studying this spring at Lindsey Wilson College. LWC Director of International Student Programs Sabine Eastham spoke at the group's March meeting, held March 1 at Columbia UMC. Eastham explained the program's many facets and also lauded area host families for helping LWC's international students adjust to life in Columbia-Adair County. LWC has a record 106 students from 38 countries enrolled this spring, and more than 40 host families work with the students. Eastham encourage the group's members to attend LWC's upcoming international festival, "Passport to the World," which will be April 5. At the event, food and crafts will be on display so that participants can experience various cultures in multi-sensory ways. Unknown person(s) representing themselves as being with the Campbellsville Water Company, are calling residents and requesting credit or debit card information, and threatening to have their water & sewer services disconnected if the requested financial information is not provided.
