Yard Sales can present traffic hazards

As a participant or a passing motorist, safety should be a top priority. First, setting a yard sale on right-of-way is illegal. These areas are used as safety buffers for motorists and they provide a clear view of vehicles entering, exiting and traveling on our roads.

By Chris Jessie, Public Information Officer
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, District 4, Elizabethtown, KY

ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (May 26, 2015) - Yard sales are often set up in dangerous locations. With regional yard sale dates selected, such as US 127 or US 68 events, there is often a disregard for sight distance, parking conditions and right-of-way infringement.

Where in the World? Darlene Wells IDs 23 May 2015 puzzle - Marrowbone, KY

by Linda & Ed Waggener

Duane Anderson was the first person to identify the building as being on KY 90, across the street from the Marathon Station in Marrowbone, near the tire store with the famous mural.

And Darlene Wells was exactly right, too, about the photo Where in the World??? Distinctive carvings in weathered wood which showed only the artist's carved insert above the porch in an old store across the street from Park Road #1 in Marrowbone, KY. She wrote:
"...Think this lovely picture comes from Marrowbone Ky on Hwy 90 in Cumberland Co. It's located on the top of a old store there, have noticed it many times. If this isn't the location we have one just like it in our county & check it out every time we go by."
Thanks, Duane & Darlene You are exactly right. We've added a photo of the whole building, linked to this story. - Ed & Linda
